2004 National U18 Club Championship

CENTRAL 5 - HOST 1

April 19, 2004
Kenora, ON

The Kenora Rec. Centre was buzzing with anticipation as the home town crowd was anxious to see their local hero's in action. The game started with a frantic pace right out of the gate, but Kenora was unable to capitalize on their opportunities. Toronto was able to convert on a few Kenora breakdowns, and found themselves with a sizeable lead after scoring four unanswered goals. Kenora finally broke the goose egg at 7:33 of the second period, and found themselves back in the game. After trailing 4-1 heading into the third, Kenora came out flying to start the final frame, but could not solve Toronto netminder Taylor Channing. Toronto rounded out the scoring with a short-handed goal to give them a 5-1 victory. The capacity crowd enjoyed the first day of action at the National Midget Championship, and know there is more to come from their home town Stars.
