GRANDE PRAIRIE, AB – After seven days of competition and two semi-final games, it has come down to the Aurora Tigers (Central Region) and the Kindersley Klippers (West Region) facing off for the 2004 RBC Royal Bank Cup.

The Aurora Tigers and the Kindersley Klippers will meet in Sunday’s RBC Royal Bank Cup championship game, which will be played at the Crystal Centre in Grande Prairie, AB at 5:30pm (MT), 7:30pm (ET) and will be broadcast live across the country on TSN and RDS. Aurora defeated Kindersley 5-0 during the round robin portion of the championship earlier in the week.

In Saturday’s first semi-final, the Aurora Tigers (Central Region) defeated the Nepean Raiders (East Region) 7-2, giving them a berth in Sunday’s championship game. The Tigers’ Francis Walker lead the way with two goals and one assist in the win. The Aurora Tigers finished the round robin portion of the championship in second place with a 3-1 record.

Saturday’s second semi-final featured a great contest between the Grande Prairie Storm and the Kindersley Klippers, with the Klippers coming out on top by a 4-3 score. Kindersley’s Casey Lee was the hero when he scored the game winner with just 35 seconds remaining in the game. Kindersley finished the round robin portion of the championship in fourth place with a 1-3 record.
