Game Story

BLACKS HARBOUR, N.B. – Theo Nordlund scored the last of four Swedish goals in the first 6:06 of the third period, turning a two-goal deficit into a two-goal lead in an eventual 6-5 pre-World Under-17 Hockey Challenge win over the Czech Republic on Thursday night.

Alexander Holtz, Lucas Raymond and Samuel Eriksson finished with a goal and an assist for the Swedes, who got points from 11 different players in the come-from-behind victory.

Jan Mysak had a goal and a helper for the Czechs, who face the defending gold medallists from the United States to open Group A play Sunday at Harbour Station in Saint John (12 p.m. AT). Sweden, which went from first to worst a year ago, gets Finland in the curtain-raiser Sunday at the qplex in Quispamsis (3:30 p.m. AT).
